I had a lot of questions and comments about the birthday cake that was at the girls' party. I thought I'd share my secret...not that it's a real secret. My sister-in-law got me this cake pan from William-Sonoma and also this page out of the Sur-la-Table catalog for decorating ideas. It was soooo hard to frost the cake so that's why it looks not so smooth, but we disguised that with those cute colored flowers and dots from Joanns Fabric. We found the candles at Walmart and the masterpiece was complete.

Those are so cool!
Very cool--I love (coveting) William Sonoma's neat pans--I thought the frosting looked great, too :-).
I can't believe you made those cakes, you are like a home-making super hero!

Thanks for sharing your "secret"!
OK I just finished reading the comment you left on my blog...THANKS for teaching me how to do the socks in the comment section! (Has THAT ever been done before?) I am going to try it...maybe while I'm visiting Sparks so my Mom can make a whole bunch too. Thanks for the pattern info too...I'm working on some smocks with buttons so I'll post them when I'm done. Fun to have a virtual sewing buddy. Thanks again!
Your girls are so cute! How are you guys? I have this pan and it rocks!!!
