More Quotes

We were on a walk to the park and we saw some seagulls in the water ahead. The girls said "look, penguins!!!".

At church Ava was sitting on Ryan's lap and she noticed that his whiskers were gone. She said "where are your whiskers?". Ryan said "I shaved them off". Ava said "that's ok we'll get you some more, sweetie".

This morning Lola says to Ryan, "You have red hair". Ryan asks Lola what color her hair is and she says "PINK!".

(This one kind of relates to the "Big girl crib" as Lola calls it). Ryan was explaining the benefits of using the potty, telling her that big girls use potties. He asks Lola if she is a baby or a big girl and she says "I'm a big baby".

Randomly, there was a "Lego-man life-size star wars guy" at Walmart the other day. The girls said "scary", "I want to take his head off", and "I want to hold her" (not all in one sentence).

So funny! I love the "sweetie" comment. Clara often does not like being called a big girl and says, "No, I'm a baby." :-)

I like the whisker one. Too funny! I have a funny story that isn't really appropriate for our blog. :)

At Jim's grandma's viewing, Elijah walked up to the casket, pointed to Nana, and said, "What's that guy's name?" Jim said, "That's Nana." Elijah just said, "Oh." And walked away.

Smart little girls! Lola's comments show that she can quickly compare things (red versus blonde; big girl versus baby) in her mind and synthesize and articulate new concepts that split the difference. Very impressive for a two year old!
