Air-Head Disaster

Last Sunday we had a little beauty school reunion at my house. I decided to make a big pot of soup/stew because it makes a lot and would feed the four of us and our husbands. The table was set, the dinner was all ready when I decided to crank up the heat one last time before serving the stew. It started boiling and then I could smell it burning. (This isn't even the disaster)... I picked up the pot and started pouring it into a glass bowl that I had planned to use. I filled it up to the top and set the pot down only to hear my bowl of soup explode!! Duh, I poured boiling soup into a glass bowl...how dumb can I be? There was soup and glass EVERYWHERE. At that point I didn't even care about my favorite bowl that we were given for a wedding present, I only cared about the group of starving people that I had no food for anymore. We did some quick thinking and dumped an extra can of chicken broth into the pot with the remaining soup that didn't fit into the glass bowl. Then we re-set the table with smaller bowls, and we were ready to eat!! Oh, I forgot to mention the massive clean up and the glass shards that I got in my foot. After the total chaos we ended up having a fun time together. Thanks Natalie, Danica, and Carlee for driving all the way to my house for a crummy bowl of soup. **my hair was a disaster that day too.

Sad that your pretty bowl broke but all you girls look like you had fun anyway!

Oh, Liesl...sounds rough! I am glad you pulled through. I have to tell you something. I use to do the score book for kids basketball. One day, this 5th grader showed up...and I could have sworn it was you, only younger. She even pranced around the basketball court, exactly how I would imagine you doing. She had glass and her hair just fell the way yours does. Anyway, now I am here in Boise and we went to the park...and sure enough...another little Liesl was running around! I love it! And I am glad you survived the exploding pot incident.
