If you don't know what a "bump-it" is then you need to look it up before you read this paragraph. So, Ava and Lola talk about bumpits all the time. (I swear I don't have one, nor will I ever have one.) They were up in their room playing with snap-on dolls, when I heard Ava say, "Your doll needs a bumpit". This conversation continued on and on, so I went in the room and the girls were using different doll items to create bumpits for their dolls. On a different day, we were at the store looking at hair accessories and Ava asked if she could get a bumpit. I told her, "Maybe when you're older, and if we're still living in Utah". haha just kidding.
"That's poor." (Meaning...they feel sorry for something.) ~Lola and Ava
I accidentally ran a shopping cart into something at the store (nothing broke, but it was kind of a loud crash). Lola said, "If I would have done that I would be in trouble". I said, "you're probably right".
"That would be scary if you had just one finger." ~Ava
"Turch"= Church
"Tange"= Change
"Calipater"= Caterpillar
Apparently "Sweet cheeks" has just been added to their vocabulary.
(This was said during Ava's prayer at dinner.) "Bless that no police man will come knock on our door...bless us to listen...that we can just listen to each other".
"I don't want lotion because it makes me wet". ~Lola
We've tried to get Lola to work on "L" pronunciation because she used to call herself "Wowa". She has taken "L's" to the extreme. I can't even type out how she says them now. She kind of flips her tongue and just over-pronounces them.
Ryan slipped some "damp" underwear (Ava's, not ryan's) into a grocery sack I had in my purse (we were not at home). I wasn't aware of this until a few days later when I was at the store trying to return the item that was in that grocery sack in my purse. I pulled out the receipt and it smelled like stale urine. Then I found the little surprise that was left for me. Thanks Ryan.
Lola was assigned to give a talk in primary, so naturally, Ava was a jealous mess. Ava kept volunteering herself during opening exercises saying, "I don't get to do a talk". They let her get up and hold a poster for a few minutes, but while she was standing there she hit her head on the sharp edged table behind her. She was totally crying, but she was so focused on keeping that poster up over her head. It was so sad. Then I got to go up and help Lola give her talk. We practiced all morning and I knew she was very familiar with her lines. I whispered the first few words to her and she started saying the entire sentence. She was laughing and giggling and I couldn't control myself. I was laughing so hard, mostly because Lola was so excited and happy, but also because all the primary kids were laughing at how loud Lola was talking in the microphone. I needed to tell Lola to NOT put her mouth on the mic. She did such a great job...minus the part where she made everyone deaf...and minus the part where she said, "Joseph Smith went to a grove of trees to PLAY". (Pray)
Everyone likes to help when it's easy. The girls had a ball peeling the red paint off this chair. (Notice: another creative outfit by Ava.)
