This is the only picture I took when Matt, Jana and Juliana were in town. I think Matt likes babies. I'm sure I'll be stealing pictures from Jana when she can get them to me.

This is the first time I tried rag rollers on the girls. Didn't get an after picture but the "during" pictures turned out super cute.

Sadly, we witnessed the burning of our tabernacle. Ryan took this picture late Friday night as he watched a stained glass window melt away. So sad.

Primary

The girls participated in the primary program in church last week. After their teachers broke up the fight they had behind the pulpit, they did a great job on their parts. I was very relieved when their speaking part was over, but then I was slightly embarrassed when they scream/yelled "Follow the Prophet". I took a video of the girls doing their part. I couldn't, however, recreate their musical number.

More Random Quotes

"Mom, can I watch a show?...Just say yes or yep." -Lola

The girls hate getting interrupted, but they love potty jokes. "Why did the toot cross the bum?...because it pooped its pants." -Lola and Ava (they've both come up with different variations.)

If Lola and Ava see a commercial they immediately want whatever is being advertised. We went to Kmart the other day and the girls were freaking out when they saw a real Pillow Pet. They starting quoting the commercial and demonstrating how they work. "Oh, they have pillow pets! It turns into a full size pillow!"

Lola wasn't sure if she liked the giant pretzel we got her while at Lagoon. She said, "What does this taste like?" Then a second later she said, "This...is....gross".

The other day, Lola shoved 3 or 4 fruity pebbles up her nose and then came in to tell me when her nose started bleeding. Then, Ava spilled an entire pitcher of OJ on the floor and all over herself. It was a great day.

Lola called 911! Ryan found a cell phone and the SIM card was missing, so he let the girls have it. Apparently, there was a 'call SOS' button on it. Lola was having a cute pretend conversation, until I came over and realized it wasn't pretend. When I put the phone to my ear I heard "emergency 911, what is your emergency?". I explained and they told me to take the battery out of the phone.

(Lola said this about a picture of a newborn baby.) "She has a gross belly button...it's green with goo." -Lola

"Yogoat fo tho goals." -Ava (Ava was speaking in her baby language when I put yogurt in the shopping cart...translation: "yogurt for the girls")

Me: "Go eat that in the kitchen!"
Lola: "I AM in the kitchen."
Me: "Oops, I mean the table."

"Is Heavenly Father Santa?" -Ava

Me: "Did you toot?"
Ava: "Yes, can you smell the magic?"

Me: "Lola, you need to start going in the big potty."
Lola: "I'll definitely do that tomorrow."

Ava has always been the one that wants to get herself dressed in the mornings. Lola wants to stay in her pajamas until after noon.

Halloween 2010

Lola wanted to be 'the wicked witch of the west' and Ava wanted to be 'glenda the good witch' for Halloween this year. These costumes were inspired by some happy meal toys they've had for a few years. Lola has always been obsessed with the witch and she just HAD to have the green face and everything. (Although, she didn't really want to look in the mirror after we put it on her, because it scared her.) It was too dark to get decent pictures, but at least these document their costumes. Ryan stayed home to hand out candy while I took the girls around the block. We went down our street and turned around one more block and Ava said, "I have enough candy, let's go home". I wasn't going to argue with that!!

The costumes were nice and easy this year. I found Ava's dress at a thrift store for a dollar and just added some length and some tulle. (Oh, and she has a pair of old socks on her arms.) Lola's started with a turtleneck from last year, and then I added some fabric on to it for the skirt.

In a frantic voice, Ava said, "Mom, I just saw Brooklyn and she's prettier than me! She has a pink sparkly dress on".

Ava:(Right after she said her nightly prayer,) "Mom, I just thanked Heavenly Father for making flowers". Lola: (After overhearing what Ava just said,) "Heavenly Father, help me to make flowers". Me: Lola, we need to say real things that we are thankful for or need blessings. Ava:"I blessed the refrigerator!"
