Frugality Fail

You know you are too cheap when...

when your envelope addressed to UTAH gets mailed to TEXAS because you used an envelope from your credit card bill that had a barcode on it.

when you go "shopping" in your husband's closet for something new.

when your husband tells you that your $5 coat that you bought 10 years ago is out of style.

when you see something you want to buy but talk yourself out of it because you think you can make it yourself.

when you reuse used diapers.  (why throw away a perfectly good diaper when you can flick off what's  been deposited in it and it still looks pretty clean.)

when you notice a penny stuck in a crack in the street and you go back with a screw driver to dislodge it.  (That's for you, Dad.)

when you make your kids keep wearing 2T clothes when they are 6 years old.

when you don't flush the toilet because you think you are saving on water costs.

when you think of something you actually need while at the store but decide to buy it later.

when you eat something you know is expired.

when you waste several gallons of gas driving around to find the cheapest gas station.

when you can't bear to throw away the 20 bags of bread heals in the fridge.

when you bring home free things you found on the side of the road.

when you save a half eaten hamburger in your purse and find it a few weeks later.

......I may have done a few of these things. ...ok, all of them. (except dislodging a coin with a screwdriver.)  How cheap are you?

Ryan brought these cookies home one time and I couldn't stop laughing at how cheap and unnatural they are.  Chocolate flavored chip?  They couldn't even use real chocolate chips.  And then they had to say artificially flavored, like we couldn't already tell.  They were as good as you might guess.

Gilroy Gardens

We took the kids to Gilroy Gardens last weekend with some friends.  The girls had a blast, but I didn't enjoy paying $5 for one hotdog.  Totally worth going anyway.

Pink Sweater

I got that sweater Kit is wearing before I knew I was having a girl...actually, before I was even pregnant.  I thought it was the cutest pink sweater ever and had to have it even if I had to give it to someone else. It was worth the risk ($2).

4 months

Kit had her 4 month check up today and she was amazing.  She didn't cry when she got a shot in each thigh!  The dr called her a super model baby because she's in the 95th percentile for height.  A nurse said she liked her "static-y" hair.  I said it's like that all the time. She weighed 14.6 pounds and she even showed off for the dr.  When they laid Kit on her tummy to see how strong her neck was, she rolled over!  Pictures below were taken a few days before her 4 month bday.

This pink turtleneck is the only item of clothing that I have from when I was a baby.  My Mom gave it to me before Kit was born and I've been counting down the days until she could wear it.  I think the biggest difference between Me and Kit is Kit's round head (with tons of hair ).

The girls wanted rag rollers for school one day last week.  Unfortunately, it was the day that Lola decided to throw up right before she stepped into her classroom.  She told me she was sick but I didn't believe her.  Whoops!  I took these pictures before we walked to school.  See why I didn't believe Lola?  She's being so crazy.  (she's in the pink.)

We went to an art fair with some friends last weekend and the girls got their faces painted.  They also got to make a foil wand and crown.  Here they are being super silly.

La Bamba

We live one block away from a Mexican restaurant. They have a bouncy house every weekend, so we go there a lot.  Here we are at La Bamba!   Ryan's mom made Kit's super cute bonnet!
