Little Pilgrims at School

The girls had a combined Kindergarten party for Thanksgiving the last day of school before break. They had a feast of drummetts and fruit, and got to wear little lacy collars and hats. I have a picture of me in Kindergarten wearing one of these exact pilgrim hats. I can't wait to find it when I go back to Utah for Christmas.






UPDATE: Located the pilgrim picture of me in Kindergarten!! I knew it! Don't ask me why I have a white sweatsuit on?

30 and Pregnant

...Sounds like a great premise to a TV show. Why not follow a 30 year old mom struggling with the day to day life of morning sickness and caring for children? All the while, wondering how she was going to take care of a new baby and afford it. (Please tell me you've seen "16 and Pregnant".) My show would start with me waking up today on my birthday to my kids telling me they spilled cereal all over their beds and floor. So, I get myself out of bed and vacuum it all up and then hurry to the kitchen to grab something to eat before I throw up. I realize that we don't have anything to eat because there is nothing worse than grocery shopping while pregnant. So, I make some french toast using the last slice of bread and two heals.

I think '30 and Pregnant' would be a pretty boring TV show. Although, there are some major perks to being 30, verses 16. I don't have a bum boyfriend that won't stop playing video games long enough to go get a job. And I don't have high school to finish, or even a job for that matter. I'd say I have it pretty good. I have two kids that go to school for half the day, so I have time to take a nap. I have a husband that has a good job and appreciates me. We are constantly asking each other how we were so lucky that we met and got married...and we still love each other....(when we hardly knew each other when we got married.) And I'm so glad he doesn't play video games very often. Although, he does play guitar really loud and pretends he hears me talking to him.

So, I am pregnant!!!...AND 30!!! I feel happy and very lucky. I am 15 weeks and due May 8th. We get to find out the gender on December 5th.

13 weeks 4 days ultrasound. The baby is waving hello.

More Random Quotes

"...In real life." -Lola (As opposed to TV or computer games...i guess)

We were reading, "We're going on a Bear Hunt", and I was asking the girls what it sounds like to walk through grass or mud or snow. Lola asks, "What does it sound like when someone steps in blood?...splish splash, splish splash". (I've got to stop letting her watch those murder shows. Just kidding!)

I asked Ava, "What did you do at school today?". Ava said, "I don't remember most of it".

"When I get older I'm going to miss you so much, Mom." -Lola

"I'm still alive with the power of moon." -Ava

"A sliver can never defeat a sock". -Ava (Convincing me that it would be ok if she wore only socks into the bark chip playground.)

"You did that!" (in a very blaming way) -Ava (Right after Ryan knocked the yogurt out of the fridge and it spilled all over the floor. They say that EVERY TIME you spill something or have some sort of accident that they think they could get blamed for, but obviously didn't do.)

The girls were really excited to eat their packed lunch at school on their first extended day of school. I decided to pack Lola celery and carrot sticks even though I know she doesn't like them very much. Well, when she got home from school I looked in her lunch box and all that was in there was empty baggies. I guess she does like raw carrots afterall.

"Those look like cuddled up babies". -Lola (Referring to the croissant dough rising on the counter.)

"My teacher told me that she liked my blonde hair and it made me feel sooo good" -Ava

Zion National Park back in June

We had a Probasco Family Reunion in June (that I keep forgetting to post about)!! We did it soon after Chris got back from his mission and just before the whole family scattered across the country. It was a blast and we loved staying all together in a house with a bedroom for everyone. There was a trampoline, jungle gym, and AstroTurf! We went on tons of hikes, went to a splash park, some of the boys went to Antelope Canyon, and we just enjoyed our time hanging out at the house. Ryan and I especially loved the trip because it was where we went on our honeymoon. If I had my photo albums here I'd scan in a picture of us 9 years ago in the same spot as the picture below. Great memories.
