Bike Riding

Ryan got me a bike.  Now I need a baby seat for Kit.  Then we can go on family bike rides like we did when I was little.

This is the first baby contraption that we bought for Kit. I think she likes it.   She didn't get that scratch on her forehead by smacking her head on the doorframe....like the reviews on this thing said would happen....

After school

Lola and Ava would rather play than eat their lunches when they are at school.  When they get home

they go directly to the table to eat the lunch that I so generously packed for them.

For anyone that already saw the below pictures I changed them.  when ryan saw them he said they looked dark and depressing.  that's not really what i was going for for a baby's room.  these brightened pictures help. ta da.

Kit's Bedroom is DONE!

I finally completed the finishing touches in Kit's room.   My neighbor was kind enough to make me that metal hook to hang the mobile from.  I made the mobile with Christmas ornaments and a cross stitch hoop.  I think Kit likes her new room....I can tell from that smile on her face.

Kit's blessing day

We were able to have Kit's baby blessing while we were in Utah this summer.  She was two months old fourth of July weekend.  We decided to combine my sister's baby along with my sister-in-law's baby to make it a triple blessing.  It was awesome and I'm so glad it worked out.  

The first four pictures were taken a few weeks after because Kit needed her own photo shoot.

2 1/2 months

Here's what Lola and Ava looked like at this age.  Kit fills out her onesie a little more than the girls.

First day of 1st Grade

Lola and Ava survived their first day of 1st grade.  They got put into the same class!  They were so happy when they found out at 'meet the teacher day'... I'm not too happy about it, though.  I'm crossing my fingers that they don't have any embarrassing fights during class.

I found this cool but very disgusting table out by someone's garbage can in Palo Alto last year.  Ryan was not as excited as I was, but he can't see the potential in old junk that I can.  It took me a while to get around to working on it but I finally did.

More random quotes and Kit stuff

3 1/2 months old

Just a few days old

The following tidbits and quotes are from the first few weeks/months after Kit was born:

-Kit gets the hiccups more than humanly possible.
-She is the noisiest eater on earth...I had to take her into the other room one night while feeding her because Ryan was getting annoyed.  (I guess he was extra irritable that night.)
-When she sleeps she moans and groans and sighs and squeaks and smiles. (I think most babies do, but it sure is cute.)
-She poops on wednesdays and sundays. (Sad, I know.)
-She's the best sleeper.
-At her two month checkup she tooted right in the doctors face. Lola and Ava thought it was the funniest thing on earth.
-She is in the 90 percentile for height.
-She is super slobbery these days (3 1/2 months).  And she likes to eat her hands.
-She's on the verge of cracking a laugh, but hasn't quite let it out yet.  She squeals, but I'm still waiting for a full laugh out of her.


One time Lola called me into the room because she wanted to show me something cool.  I walk into the room and she is whipping Kit's legs so high into the air that her bum is lifted off the floor and the only thing touching the ground is her head.  I didn't think it was as cool as she did.

Ava: "I actually am starting to like the name Kit."

The girls love it when Kit gets her "cute-sad" face.  They think her face is adorable right before she cries.  "Aww, look at her cute-sad face."  They also love it when she "whines".

Lola has always had the best sense of smell and she knows immediately when the baby needs to be changed.

Lola: When's garbage day?
Me: Wednesday
Ava: Why are you so excited for garbage day?
Lola: Because look how full our garbage can is.

Ava: "Mom, you actually look pretty with that zit in between your eyes."

Lola: "I'm wondering, how did we even learn how to fight?"

Lola: "Mom, who do you think dug this giant hole for this trampoline to go in?...Jesus?"

I wish I could get a hold of Ryan's baby picture, but it's in a box somewhere.  So, here's the comparison between me and Kit's hospital pictures.  Notice that we both even have the same stork bite in between our eyes.  (Well, Kit got a cool heart, and I just got a circle.) Oh, and I'm too cheap to buy the hospital pictures so I had to rip it off the internet.
